Privacy Policy

Hirobot Co., Ltd. explains below what personal information it handles, why it is needed, how long it is kept, and how you can exercise your rights. This policy covers our website, HIARM-TWIN-01, and support inquiries.

Effective:

1. Information kept on your device

Camera processing, voice recognition, demonstration recording, and model training run on your computer. These features do not automatically upload camera images, audio, transcripts, classroom files, datasets, or models to Hirobot or its analytics provider. Face detection finds the position of a face; it does not identify who the person is.

Voice-command audio and transcripts are not saved as recordings. Recording a demonstration does save video, robot movements, and task information on your computer for review and training. Saved projects, settings, datasets, and models also remain on your computer. The app does not provide cloud backup.

2. Information we collect and use

The website and HIARM-TWIN-01 do not require an account. The website uses no advertising or visitor-analytics trackers. We handle the following information when you browse or contact us.

Website and support information
WhenInformation and purpose
Website visitsIP address, browser or device information, requested pages or files, and request times: content delivery, security, and troubleshooting by the hosting provider.
Browser settingsLanguage preferences and temporary navigation information: remembering your language and navigation state on your device.
Support inquiriesEmail address and message, plus any name, organization, or attachments you provide: answering inquiries, investigating issues, following up, and handling related disputes.

Necessary contract-related inquiries are handled under Article 15 (1) 4 of the Personal Information Protection Act. Other inquiry, security, and claims processing relies on an applicable legal obligation or a legitimate interest under Article 15 (1) 6 only when it directly relates to the processing, stays within a reasonable scope, and clearly outweighs the data subject’s rights. We obtain separate consent when required.

Exporting a support file does not send it to us. Send only relevant information you have permission to share, leaving out unrelated student details, passwords, sensitive information, and confidential material. We may be unable to resolve an inquiry without the information needed to investigate it.

3. App usage and diagnostic information

Analytics-enabled releases automatically send limited events during app use to help operate, secure, diagnose, and improve HIARM-TWIN-01. We do not use these events for advertising or to track activity across other apps or services.

Events contain feature-use actions, bounded error and crash categories, app version and build, operating system and architecture, session identifiers, persistent random installation identifiers, and timestamps. The provider also receives the source IP address and may derive approximate location. Although this data is not linked to a Hirobot account, it is not anonymous.

Events do not include images, audio, transcripts, classroom materials, datasets, model contents, raw logs, file paths, or detailed robot-motion data. Contractual necessity applies only where the processing is needed to provide the app; legitimate interests must meet section 2’s requirements. Separate consent is obtained where required. Acceptance of the Terms alone is not consent to analytics or overseas processing.

4. Service providers and overseas transfers

We use service providers for the work below. Providers acting for Hirobot are restricted to the agreed work and subject to the safeguards and supervision required by law.

Information and purposeThe information in section 3, for app operation, security, troubleshooting, and improvement.
Timing and methodDuring app use or delivery retries, over an encrypted network connection.
RetentionThe analytics retention rule in section 5 applies.

For South Korean users, overseas processing or storage relies on Article 28-8 (1) 3 only when necessary to conclude or perform a contract and the required transfer information is disclosed or notified. Otherwise, a different lawful transfer basis, including separate consent where required, must apply.

For a release with automatic overseas analytics, you can refuse it by not downloading, installing, or running the release, or by stopping use. This prevents use of that release but does not affect access to the website or email support. Where optional consent is required, refusing it does not restrict features that do not need that processing. Changes to recipients, purposes, or countries follow any notice or consent requirements.

GitHub, Inc. delivers installers and release notes under its own privacy notice. Optional model and tool downloads also send requests, IP addresses, and connection information to their providers without uploading classroom materials. These external services may process information overseas.

We do not sell personal information or share classroom materials for advertising. We may provide the minimum information lawfully needed by competent authorities or professional advisers for security incidents or legal claims, subject to applicable confidentiality duties.

5. Retention and deletion

We keep information for its stated purpose and retention period. The following rules apply to information handled through the website, app, and support.

Retention rules
InformationRetention rule
Language and navigation settingsLanguage preferences remain until changed or cleared. Temporary navigation information is removed after use or when the tab closes.
Support correspondenceUp to three years after resolution, where needed for follow-up, contractual records, or related disputes.
Usage and diagnostic eventsOnly while needed for app operation, security, troubleshooting, and improvement.
Hosting security logsFor the provider’s operational security period or a period required by law. Hirobot does not use these logs for behavioral analytics.
Local projects and backupsManaged by you or your institution. Uninstalling the app may leave saved files and does not remove copies already shared.

When information is no longer needed or its retention period ends, we delete it without undue delay. Electronic records are deleted using methods intended to prevent recovery; paper records are securely destroyed. If another law requires preservation, the records are separated from ordinary use and limited to that legal purpose and period.

6. Children and classroom information

HIARM-TWIN-01 does not require student accounts. Schools and other operating organizations decide how classroom materials are recorded, used, shared, protected, and retained. They must provide the required notices and obtain necessary permissions, including verified parent or legal guardian consent for children under 14 where South Korean law requires consent.

We do not create advertising profiles using student information. A parent, guardian, or school may contact us about information a child sent to Hirobot. We delete information collected without required authorization unless the law requires it to be kept. For files held only by a school, contact the school; we cannot access those copies.

7. Your rights and how to exercise them

You may request access, a copy, correction, deletion, restriction or suspension of processing, objection, or portability where applicable. You may also withdraw consent to processing based on consent. Send requests to contact@hirobot.com yourself or through an authorized representative.

We may ask for the minimum information needed to verify a request and, for analytics, the installation identifier needed to locate events. We respond within legal deadlines. If the law permits a restriction, including to protect others’ rights or confidential information, we explain the reason and available complaint options. Requests for files held only on your device or by your school should go to their holder.

You can clear browser storage, change camera or microphone permissions, skip optional downloads, and choose whether to share a support file. Device permissions affect the related features, not product analytics. You may also contact the privacy authority in your jurisdiction, including South Korea’s Personal Information Protection Commission.

9. Safeguards and policy updates

We apply administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the information handled. No system guarantees complete security.

We publish the effective date and material changes with each policy update, and provide additional notice or obtain consent where required. The September 7, 2026 update reorganizes the existing disclosures into shorter sections and tables. It does not add categories of information collected.
